As a practicing postpartum nurse and lactation consultant one of the common phrases I hear when speaking to patients about their breastfeeding goals is “I’m stopping when they have teeth”. As the CDC and WHO both recommend breastfeeding for a minimum of 6 months, past the first tooth eruption of most babies, I figured we should dive head first into 3 myths regarding breastfeeding toddlers.
